HUGO BOSS: New Multi-Channel-Warehouse for Hanging Garments
Frankfurt on the Main / Metzingen, 1.10.2009. Within 24 months of planning and building Hugo Boss AG established at their headquarter Metzingen one of the most „modern distribution centres for hanging garments in Europe”, as announced recently in a press release. Planning and project management for intra logistics and storing processes under SAP- warehouse management system of Hugo Boss has been supported by Miebach Consulting. The new four-tiers distribution centre has been equipped with a most modern, trolles less conveyor technique. The new DC has a storing capacity of 1.5 Millionen pieces hanging garments. The total capacity can reach 100.000 pieces per day (in and out).
Core elements of the Multi Channel Warehouse are two automatic matrix sorters with a capacity of 5.000 pieces per hour. The main advantage describes Michael Greschke from Miebach Consulting as follows: „The matrix sorter allows a flexible sorting und sequencing of big and small orders, which can be delivered at the same time to wholesale und own-retail“.
With the Hugo Boss DC Miebach - The Supply Chain Engineers- switch the third of three big distribution centres to the German logistics net within 12 months.
