Miebach examines changing landscape of logistics outsourcing – Invitation to take part in the study

A new global logistics outsourcing survey has been launched by Miebach, in cooperation with DVZ (Deutsche Verkehrs-Zeitung) as media partner, to capture how companies across the supply chain are approaching outsourcing decisions in an increasingly complex environment. |
Outsourcing has become a strategic topic that goes far beyond cost considerations. The new study examines how logistics outsourcing is evolving in response to automation, digitalization, sustainability requirements, and growing decision-making complexity. The study continues a research series that Miebach has conducted regularly for more than 25 years.
Statements of the study authors
Prof. Dr. Bernd Müller-Dauppert, Partner, Miebach, said:
“Outsourcing decisions have become significantly more complex in recent years. This study helps us understand what drives success for shippers, which measures help organizations to overcome challenges in practice, and where improvement is still needed.”
Dr. Klaus-Peter Jung, Partner, Miebach, added:
“By including the 3PL perspective, we can identify critical success factors and typical friction points across tendering, implementation, and ongoing operations. We sincerely thank all participants for supporting this research with their insights.”
Invitation to participate in the study
Miebach invites supply chain, logistics, and procurement leaders, as well as commercial and operational leaders from logistics service providers, to take part in the study. Respondents may receive a summary of the key findings once the study is completed.
To reflect the full outsourcing landscape, the global study includes two aligned questionnaires covering both the shipper and logistics service provider (3PL) perspectives. Each survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and will be open until end of February 2026.
