Miebach Returns as Judge & Sponsor for 2025 SCOMA Case Competition at Indiana University
01.10.2025
For the second year, Miebach Consulting was honored to serve as judge and sponsor for the Supply Chain & Operations Management Association (SCOMA) Case Competition at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. The event challenged students to apply academic knowledge to a real-world supply chain problem, showcasing their analytical, strategic, and communication skills.
About the Competition
This year’s competition brought together dozens of student participants, forming 14 teams across both underclass and upperclass divisions. Students were challenged to solve a complex supply chain scenario and develop strategies to boost service, streamline planning, and strengthen operational agility. The case required teams to analyze data, evaluate trade-offs, and propose both short-term improvements and long-term strategic changes.
Over the course of two weeks, the teams developed solutions and presented their findings before a panel of industry professionals. Judging criteria included creativity, rigor of analysis, practicality of recommendations, and quality of presentation.
First place teams in both categories received a $1750 prize, and second place teams took home $750.
Miebach’s Role
Miebach colleagues from the Fishers, Indiana office once again joined the judging panel, bringing deep expertise in strategy, operations, and transformation projects. This year’s judges included:
- Emilie Laliberte, Manager
- Michael White, Senior Consultant (IU Class of 2018)
- Michael Morasca, Senior Consultant (IU Class of 2019)
- Alex Weick, Consultant (IU Class of 2023)
"I was blown away by the quality of submissions and presentations by all of the teams that participated," said judge Michael White. "Especially some of the freshmen groups who have only been on campus for a month or so. All groups were able to take this complex, real world problem, form quality, thought out solutions and present them in a very articulate manner."

"This is the second year we’ve sponsored the case competition, and once again it didn’t disappoint," said Emilie Laliberte, Manager and People Strategy Lead. "I really enjoyed seeing how engaged the students were, so focused on finding the right solution and excited to work through the problem. Their energy and creativity were inspiring, and it’s great to partner with IU, SCOMA, and Miebach on something that highlights such strong future talent."
