Being a Woman in the Industry: A Journey that Continues to Transform

09.03.2026

Introduction

More than 20 years ago, I began my career in Industrial Engineering.

In my first year, in a classroom of more than 60 students, only six of us were women.

During my first professional experience in the automotive industry, the operations room — where the maintenance, quality, and production management teams worked — had only two women: myself, a recent graduate, and a young apprentice.

A few years later, while working in an office on Avenida Berrini in São Paulo in the advanced supplier logistics department, the situation changed slightly.

On that floor, professionals from the purchasing area were the majority, and the presence of women was somewhat higher. Even so, in my team of seven people, I was the only woman.

Over time, I began to notice something very positive happening: more women were joining the field, taking on important roles, and forming increasingly diverse teams.

At one point in my career, I had the opportunity to work with an excellent programming team composed mostly of women.

My Current Experience at Miebach Brazil

Today, as a Senior Consultant at Miebach, I once again find myself in a predominantly male environment — a challenging but also fascinating sector — working alongside outstanding professionals.

At Miebach Brazil, I have been working as a Senior Consultant for the past two years. Shortly after I joined, another woman also became part of the team: Jhenny, who is responsible for organizing the administrative, HR, and marketing areas. She is another example of how, little by little, more women are becoming an integral part of this environment.

Looking back, what I see is that the presence of women has been gradually increasing. Perhaps not as quickly as we would like, but with steady and meaningful progress.

For me, working in predominantly male environments has never been a problem.

Fortunately, I have always had excellent colleagues, and I have learned that competence, dedication, and respect are what ultimately earn us our place.

On this International Women’s Day, my reflection is simple: Every woman’s journey tells part of the story of this transformation.

And how wonderful it is to be part of it.
