From day-to-day operations to gaining a strategic perspective – my path to logistics consulting

I have worked at Miebach now for over a year and a half, and in recent months I have often reflected on my transition from operational logistics to logistics consulting. After six exciting years in logistics, it was a significant career change.

Prior to entering the field of consulting, I completed a dual degree programme and then worked full-time in logistics services for three years. I have been enthusiastic about logistics from the outset, particularly the operational challenges and how digital solutions can improve efficiency and transparency. At the same time, I developed a desire to delve deeper into the interface between logistics and IT, particularly with regards to WMS systems and logistics IT infrastructure. Miebach made this possible for me.

The change brought many new experiences: new ways of working, new roles and new challenges. It was particularly exciting to be involved in such a variety of projects, ranging from process design to implementation and go-live support. The projects with a high degree of automation are my personal highlight. There, I can combine my enthusiasm for logistics automation with my practical logistics knowledge and IT experience.

What motivates me every day? The varied tasks, working in motivated teams and the opportunity to continuously learn new things, of course. I also appreciate having the opportunity to explore other areas, such as transformation management at Miebach, in addition to my current projects. This broadens my horizons and contributes to my personal and professional development. In recent months, I have significantly expanded my knowledge, particularly in automation technology and project management, and I am looking forward to what lies ahead.

After the first year, I can conclude that: I am very happy with my decision and grateful that I chose this path. Looking to the future, I hope to continue working on a variety of projects and developing both professionally and personally.
